After input from many Woodstockers who want to see a new and improved community center and cultural venue, the time has arrived to begin the final phase, the actual renovation to the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center (MHCC). You can check out our progress, complete with pictures on the Progress page of this site.
The Buy-A-Brick campaign continues. We have quietly sold over $10,000 worth of “bricks”, engraved blocks of handsome wood, which will adorn a wall of the MHCC. You may purchase one for $100 at the Town Clerk’s office, or here on line on our donations page. In kind donations are also welcome.
Generous donors have already come forward to finance components of the project. If you would like to contribute in a significant way, please contact me and I can review the plans with you and let you select which facet of the community/cultural center you would like to help with. For instance, a landscaping scheme around the building would be a welcome addition, or a curtain for our proscenium stage. There is much more to choose from. Please see our Make A Donation page for more information.
I am particularly thrilled that this project has begun.
Here’s hoping for a quick winter. I am looking forward to our new and improved community center and cultural venue. I hope you are, too.
